Technology

Technology has and will continue to profoundly alter the way we think about the Developmental Channels

The next two categories—technology and financial--are not intrinsic Developmental Channels.  However, they are external categories that are profoundly and fundamentally influencing the way we develop and behave as human beings on each of the Developmental Channels.  Therefore, they cannot be ignored.

In fact, technology has and will continue to profoundly alter the way we think about the Developmental Channels and the myriad list of attributes in each channel.  Many of the current attributes will and have become obsolete and new, yet unknown, attributes will guide our daily conduct because of the prevalent role of technology.  Technology has already altered the way we think about socializing, about our emotional impulses, our ethical parameters, our physical development, our sexual expressions, and our financial expectations.  Gradually and, at times with incredible speed, technology is changing our behavior and belief systems.  Therefore, technology has been added as a supplemental, external category to the Developmental Channels.  Note an extra space appears between the seven intrinsic pathways of development and the two added external influences on our development.  There is no category as influential as technology in changing our evolutionary human patterns.

The list of attributes that various teachers have infused into the classroom while teaching mindfulness will be included in an upcoming text.
