I was first introduced to the Spectrum through my under-graduate studies. I was so impressed by Muska & Sara’s Spectrum of Teaching Styles. From my point of view, all future physical education teachers should learn the most important theorical-practice pedagogical instructional framework in physical education. For this reason, I teach the Spectrum of Teaching Styles to students at University.
I research the Spectrum because I would like to contribute to the improvement of pedagogy in physical education. Despite the Spectrum of Teaching Styles being one of the most internationally studied pedagogical theories in the field of physical education, little is known about the use of Mosston’s theory by Spanish physical education teachers and students. My purpose is to examine Spanish teachers´ and students´ use and experiences of the Spectrum of Teaching Styles and students.
